About Star Carpets
Gravesend’s longest established carpet specialist began life on January 1st 1981 with a small shop in Milton Street, Swanscombe.
However due to re-development of the area we moved to our present site at 173, Parrock Street , Gravesend, Kent some 2yrs later.
It is at present still a family run business with Stuart Jenner and his son Adam Jenner as partners employing one part time salesperson Abigail Stroud. With our fitters Danny Bain and Peter Hider we have successfully carried on trading this past 30yrs. Our two full time fitters work exclusively for us which is why we can fully gurantee all work undertaken. Most competitors in the local area use sub-contractors. We find too that alot of fitters who are paid direct by the customers (not a practicce we endorse) can be a risk for the consumer. This is because we believe that it negates all responsibility for the installation as once the fitter is paid seperately you form a legal contract to the fitter and not the shop the fitter came from!!!
We find it gives our customers peace of mind knowing that the same fitter that fitted their lounge 30 yrs ago will be the same fitter that turns up to fit their bedroom!! ( we wont let Pete retire!)
So beware of any shop that offers you to pay the fitter privately............................
We have established a fine reputation with the public, good relations with other local business’s and with over 80% of our existing customers regulary coming back or recommending family or friends to us we are sure with loyalty such as this that we will be able to continue for another 30yrs!
This year we are proud to announce that it is our pearl anniversay 2011. Therefore we can legally and truthfully say that we have over 30yrs of experience! Stuart Jenner who has been here since 1981 still plays an acitve role in the day to day running of the business. His son Adam who has worked here since he was 15 now takes up the slack and continues this fabulous business that his father started all those years ago!
